the Birthday Beer, Books and the Bronx Tour Begins

I woke up this morning at 7a to church bells. They were beautiful. Then I rolled back over and went to sleep. I slept 8-9 hours last night. I was asleep by 10:30 EST, which means it was 7:30p at home. I so wanted to venture out and run an errand or see a friend or two that bartend, but I was pooped.

I am staying in a room in a wonderful apartment in the East Village. Granted it looked a lot more together in the pictures on line, but its is nice and clean and feels safe. I am off now to meet a friend at Sotheby's and see the end of an auction and have lunch. Then I am going to the main branch of the NYC Public Library for a tour. I may take an audio tour through the park after that. hmmmm.... then perhaps a beer. I do need to buy my book club book while I am here as I need to finish it (and start it for that matter) before 10/30.

(I don't think this is very interesting writing, more of note to myself) I do hope to take pictures and post them as well as write of adventures.

I suppose my biggest adventure so far was having my friend pick me up at the airport. That was an easy adventure, I was just nervous about it - more nervous about how I would feel. And all went well. :)

Yoga...

I haven't been in awhile. Perhaps it should be my goal this weekend. And I actually love all the names for the poses even the ones I never remember AND I found this very funny. Next time I go to yoga, I may giggle about it.

I love reading lists

I do. I love reading lists. I love lists of books. Especially when they have books that I haven't read that others like. I love fiction. I love the escape of it. I love inhabiting other times and worlds and social classes. Reading lists make me excited. I love it when people talk about books they love.

What brought this on, you ask? My friend just posted a list on facebook. And I needed to post it. And I suppose I needed to talk about my love of reading lists. How much do I love Goodreads.com just for the lists? ( A lot!!!)

So here is her list from the Telegraph. It is the 110 books that make the perfect library. I might debate about the perfect library; my current perfect library would include the fourth Game of Thrones book and the Sookie Stackhouse book where Eric looses his memory (one because I am almost done with the previous book and one to reread).
