Thankful Posts
Please note that my Thankful posts aren't in any particular order. If I were to put them in order, friends and family would come first. They are coming up in the order which my scattered brain percolates them up. Please don't take umbrage at my percolating brain, just be glad it is percolating.
Funny...odd and random.
Funny...
I wrote about the first day of my last trip to NYC and then nothing. hmmm...
I wrote nothing of my travels since and there have been plenty. Most for work, one fabulous one for fun. And always a little fun thrown into the work trips (don't tell work, they think I am horribly serious ;) ).
Just noting that. Perhaps I will post something of my trips this last 12 months. We shall see.
Right now. I just figured writing about something I am thankful about each day, might just help.
Help what you ask? Life in general. I feel a bit mired down. And that seems like a good way to get up out of the muck.
Let's see how this goes.

the Birthday Beer, Books and the Bronx Tour Begins
I woke up this morning at 7a to church bells. They were beautiful. Then I rolled back over and went to sleep. I slept 8-9 hours last night. I was asleep by 10:30 EST, which means it was 7:30p at home. I so wanted to venture out and run an errand or see a friend or two that bartend, but I was pooped.
I am staying in a room in a wonderful apartment in the East Village. Granted it looked a lot more together in the pictures on line, but its is nice and clean and feels safe. I am off now to meet a friend at Sotheby's and see the end of an auction and have lunch. Then I am going to the main branch of the NYC Public Library for a tour. I may take an audio tour through the park after that. hmmmm.... then perhaps a beer. I do need to buy my book club book while I am here as I need to finish it (and start it for that matter) before 10/30.
(I don't think this is very interesting writing, more of note to myself) I do hope to take pictures and post them as well as write of adventures.
I suppose my biggest adventure so far was having my friend pick me up at the airport. That was an easy adventure, I was just nervous about it - more nervous about how I would feel. And all went well. :)

I love reading lists
I do. I love reading lists. I love lists of books. Especially when they have books that I haven't read that others like. I love fiction. I love the escape of it. I love inhabiting other times and worlds and social classes. Reading lists make me excited. I love it when people talk about books they love.
What brought this on, you ask? My friend just posted a list on facebook. And I needed to post it. And I suppose I needed to talk about my love of reading lists. How much do I love Goodreads.com just for the lists? ( A lot!!!)
So here is her list from the Telegraph. It is the 110 books that make the perfect library. I might debate about the perfect library; my current perfect library would include the fourth Game of Thrones book and the Sookie Stackhouse book where Eric looses his memory (one because I am almost done with the previous book and one to reread).

NYEs past
Memories from childhood include sleeping over at my Grandmothers to and watching movies with my cousins.
Other memories from childhood include charades games with the neighbor families, where sometimes we postponed midnight because we were in the middle of the game. When you have two men in the room named Jay, it is easier to get Roget's Thesaurus.
Senior year of high school, got me grounded for a month, after getting so ill from Mr. Jack Daniels. (granted being grounded when you are in rehearsals and dance classes, doesn't change your life too much).
One NYE, I went to see the movie Chorus Line with my sister and her friend.
One spectacular NYE, Victoria and I went to Vegas - Lottie and Lala had a great time.
This year, my friend Amiee and I are going to Zanzibar to see my favorite d.j. We will nosh a bit first at a local restaurant then to dance to fabulous music. Perhaps there will be stories to relate tomorrow. hmmm...

New Years Eve
Just getting over another flu. This has been the season for them. This is the last day of the decade, the year, and it is a Blue Moon. What does this portent? What are my goals for the next year? What are my wishes and desires? hmmm.... love is definitely on the list. A larger income, a baby, what else? my G tour (Greece, Geneva, and maybe Germany). Now to make plans. I am feng shui-ing my apartment to create space for someone to enter my life (and for all good things).
